There are classic, albeit old, movies which I’d want to see again. Unfortunately, these titles are very difficult to find in DVD much less Blue Ray format. Are these available in the internet? Do you have to pay a fee in order to see these films or can you Watch Movies Online for Free?

 

Being not so adventurous when it comes to web surfing, I only found out the answers to these questions recently. I discovered that many old movies are available online although some ardent searching may be necessary for not-so-popular titles. And the quality of the reproduction may be suspect. Considering that some of these may be almost half a century old, the quality issue should be expected. Lucky for us, old, classic movies are more often than not classified as public domain movies. This means that the copyright of these films have been allowed to expire and more importantly they are licensed for viewing online. Hence, you can legally watch and download this type of movies.

 

If you’re interested to know the sites which host legal online movies, you may refer to the website of the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA). They have a list of authorized sites, although this list may not be comprehensive. At least you are assured that watching free movies online from these sites is legal.
