Samuel Williamson, better known as Sam Williamson in the football world, is a professional football player who was born on October 15, 1987 in Macclesfield, England.


He began his football career by joining Manchester City’s youth club at the age of nine. In 2005, Sam Williamson graduated to the Academy Under-18 side and also played a part in helping the Manchester City team reach the final of the Football Association Challenge (FA) Youth Cup in 2006. His impressive performances for the youth team earned him a professional contract to get into Manchester City’s senior team.


Sam Williamson began by playing for the reserves during the 2006-2007 season and was a regular for the reserve team the following season. After 15 appearances for the reserve team, this defender was selected for the first team squad in September 2007 for a League Cup match against Norwich City that ended in a draw. Sam Williamson made his first team debut on April 20, 2008 and came on as a substitute for Richard Dunne in a Premier League match against Portsmouth. He put forth a stirring performance during the 36 minutes that he was on the field and was praised highly by the team manager Sven-Goran Eriksson.


Sam Williamson wears the number 34 jersey while playing for Manchester City Football Club.
