About Sabera Kazi
Sabera Kazi attended the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) in May 1992. She then earned an MS and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. With 15 years of experience, Ms. Kazi currently specializes in advanced wireless technology. In addition to having a deep knowledge of the technological details of designing complex wireless products, Sabera Kazi is a strong team leader and regularly helps teams to transition smoothly from the research process to product development and deployment.
Sabera Kazi has obtained many large grants for projects with a number of organizations, including a $1,700,000 grant from DARPA for a high speed secured optical communications system, a $1,000,000 Department of Defense grant for developing optical signaling and digital signal processing techniques to remotely detect explosive chemicals, and a $500,000 grand from NASA-PI to run a performance-modeling and simulation related to aeronautical telecommunications networks.
Throughout her career, Ms. Kazi has received a number of patents, including several for radio frequency identity tag and communications technology, satellite communications, and differential 8 phase key technology. Sabera Kazi has excelled in a number of fields and earned several awards, including two Technical Achievement Awards from Honeywell International Inc. She has also served as a mentor for engineers and interns in engineering culture, practice, project development and career management.
In her spare time, Sabera Kazi prioritizes travel, preferring remote destinations where she can spend time with the locals. She enjoys snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking in the woods and near the waterfront. Ms. Kazi also maintains a large garden showcasing plants from around the world. She plans a vineyard for next season and has a number of beautiful fruit trees. Sabera Kazi regularly spends her weekends at wine tastings in local wineries.
