About Ryan Young

Ryan Young is a 23-year-old poker player who comes from Torrance, California, United States. He started playing poker only four years ago but by now he has gained a lot of experience. In the beginning he mostly played online, but after that Ryan admitted that online gaming lost its thrill, so he turned to live tournaments. He wanted to get into the atmosphere of a live game and truly feel the game.

Before taking up with poker, Ryan Young has attended UC Irvine for three years. Although he was a neglected child without ever knowing a mother’s love, he managed to grow up and turn into a responsible and ambitious young man.

Ryan Young’s first big score came into 2007 during the World Series of Poker Event 35 No-Limit Hold’em where he earned his first bracelet and the big prize of $615,955. Ryan eliminated a field of 2,541 players. He says that he the game went smoothly and steadily. Ryan started off with a big sack, but until the final 15,1 he was just trying to hang around with average stack. He didn’t get too hot or nervous and he had the best hand so he didn’t really put his chips in play unless he had to. And that technique got him to the final table!

Unlike many players though, to him the money he earned really was not as important as the bracelet itself, because it represented all of the efforts he had made and he now had something to prove his talent. Of course, this is definitely not the last time Ryan Young gives his best. He says that his reward from the 2007 WSOP stimulated him to become a even better player.

Ryan Young is really young but this wasn’t the first time he had success in poker. He also had a cash earlier in the World Series of Poker in 2005, where he earned about $3,000. “That's how we judge how good of a tournament player you are - by the number of bracelets”.

Ryan Young’s second big success was during the No Limit Hold’em Event held in August 13th, 2007. He then won the ring and the $10,000 seat to the Main Event. Unfortunately, Ryan couldn’t enjoy his victory in the WSOP as much as he deserved because he had to be hospitalized. Even that couldn’t put a black cloud over his day, though. Of course, Ryan has always showed an aggressive temper and an everlasting desire for success, so very few people doubt that he’s going to continue climbing to the top of his career. With certainty this will not be the last we hear from Ryan Young. We are definitely going to see him striking even bigger scores and trying to make his way into the leading role of the poker players.
