A resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Ruston Michael Rhorer began teaching at White Castle High School, part of the Iberville Parish School District, in 2011. During the 2008-2009 school year, Mr. Rhorer utilized his well-honed leadership skills to serve as the Chairperson of the Science Department. In this capacity, he set a new precedent for achievement in the Baton Rouge school’s science department. Additionally, he saw the majority of his students score at the basic level or higher on Louisiana's statewide Graduate Exit Examination (GEE).

Ruston Michael Rhorer completed his formal training at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and a concentration in chemistry. He also gained critical field experience as a student teacher at two nearby high schools during the spring semester of 2007. Moreover, Mr. Rhorer pursued a minor in psychology and earned his teaching certification for grades six through 12 after passing The Praxis Series tests in reading, writing, and mathematics. He also passed the Chemistry: Content Knowledge and Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7-12 portions of this standardized examination.

I enjoy a beautiful writing style, and I would like to be become a writer someday. I use to play the piano and had hoped to become a virtuoso, but that fell through.
