Rob Roseman from Chicago, Illinois, is one of the phenomena that tend to occur in the world of professional poker. He isn't a professional poker player and he doesn't do it for a living. Actually, Rob Roseman is indeed a professional, but in a slightly different profession: a professional stock broker. As such, he's used to responding quickly and had to develop sharp instincts and ways to read people and intentions.
On his free time, Rob Roseman plays poker. This 31 year old man (born in 1977 in Miami, Florida) has been playing poker at home for the last 13 years. Only two years ago did Rob Roseman get to know the world of online poker, and has been playing there as well ever since. He played throughout his studies for a B.S degree in the University of Florida, and he'll probably continue playing poker for a long time in the future.
What's so surprising about Rob Roseman, you ask? Well, he has been playing poker for over a decade, probably has some nice bankroll as well, has been participating in live professional poker tournaments for the past two years (which is just about the time he discovered the world of online poker) and is still relatively unknown poker player. He acts like a professional, but tends to disappear from the poker scene for long periods of time. So, Rob Roseman, are you a professional or not?
The first live professional poker tournament Rob Roseman ever won cash in was on August 10th, 2006, as he made it to the 23rd place of the 37th Annual WSOP No Limit Hold'em Championship finals. The prize he took home was $494,797, an amount of money that would have probably encouraged many others to go pro, dive into the uncertain ocean of professional poker, but not Rob Roseman.
As he probably enjoyed that No Limit Hold'em championship and his achievements in that tournament, Rob Roseman continued participating in a few more tournaments and cashed in some of them, but he didn't quite manage to recreate the success and amount of money he won back then.
So, nearly a year after he started participating in live professional poker tournaments, Rob Roseman played his last tournament yet, on July 17th, 2007, and took the 360th place at the 38th Annual WSOP No Limit Hold'em Championship, along with $34,664. Ever since then he hasn't cashed in any tournament he participated in, if he even participated in any. This part remains uncertain, unlike the future of Rob Roseman in the live professional poker scene. He'll probably continue building his bankroll in the online poker websites, and maybe we'll hear from him again someday.
