Robert Mayor B.Sc

Robert is the Head of the Systems Management and Strategy (SMS) Department. Previously, he worked for the PA Consulting Group as Principal Consultant in Business Reorganisation and Programme Management

He teaches at both the undergraduate and the post graduate level in Business Strategy, Change Management and Project Management. Robert is an experienced consultant in strategy, change management and project management having operated in these fields for over 16 years. He has extensive project management skills having managed several commercial projects valued between £5 and £12 million and delivered a range of training programmes to private and public sector organizations.

He has led a team in partnership with Essex County Council to design and implement a continuous professional development programme for their managerial workforce. This led to an integrated development programme for staff leading to academic qualifications in business and management (2003-6). Furthermore, he has delivered project management training to groups of engineers in Europe and North America and has completed a strategic review for Scottish Power on their IP Subsidiary, Thus, and recommended future directions.

In terms of research, and for the Irish TSB, Robert undertook a research study of a range of staff within the organization and their perceptions of the management of change initiatives. In addition, he has completed research studies for Cable and Wireless and also for Glaxo SmithKline in the areas of outcomes of organisation restructuring and downsizing and social network relationships, respectively.
