An experienced college administrator with over thirty years in senior or executive management positions, Dr. Robert Joseph Massa presently functions as the Vice President of Communications at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania, a role he assumed in 2009. Working closely with the Office of Admissions, Dr. Massa’s primary duty is to establish the school’s overall image, market it to key groups of applicants, and improve the quantity and quality of the student body. Dr. Massa also monitors external communications from his direct reports, including News Services, Athletic Communications, and Editorial Services.

Dr. Robert J. Massa has added several other professional engagements since accepting the VP role at Lafayette. He draws upon an extensive background in administration as a member of the Board of Trustees of small college in Pennsylvania and an independent school in Idaho. Bob Massa now also serves on the National Council on Higher Education Marketing. He has continued to maintain his roles with the Education Conservancy, as an Advisory Board Member, and as a member of the Editorial Board of its publication arm, College & University. Dr. Massa established these affiliations in 2005, and he has held numerous similar posts throughout his 38-year career.

Prior to joining the administration of Lafayette, Dr. Robert Massa spent ten years as the Vice President for Enrollment and College Relations at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. Dr. Massa’s efforts resulted in an 82 percent increase in total applicants while simultaneously raising the quality of admitted student by 100 SAT points. The school also witnessed an annual revenue increase of over $8 million over an eight-year period.

Dr. Robert J. Massa is often called on to present at industry events and has published a number of academic papers on enrollment, financial aid, and other college admissions issues. He possesses a Doctor of Education and a Master of Arts in Higher Education from Teachers College of Columbia University, and a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Rochester.
