A versatile engineer with more than 25 years of experience in the development of software for industrial machines and instruments, Robert H. Flanagan currently works at MPI Software, Inc., in Wayland, Massachusetts. With a highly diversified professional background, Robert Flanagan began to set the stage for his career while an undergraduate at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), during which time he completed a summer internship as a CNC programmer with B & E Tool Co. and participated in the Hertz Foundation’s Summer Institute Program.
Following receipt of his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from RPI, Robert H. Flanagan spent a term as Project Engineer with United Technologies Corporation, Hamilton Standard Division, before enrolling in graduate school at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Earning his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1991, Mr. Flanagan subsequently moved to the greater Boston area and took a role as Senior Engineer for the Gillette Company. For the next five years, Robert H. Flanagan oversaw the design and assembly of manufacturing equipment for a vast array of Gillette products, including the Mach3 cartridge. At the end of this period, he assumed duties as a New Product Engineer at Bose Corporation, where he performed mechanical, electrical, acoustical, and environmental testing on the company’s line of consumer audio devices. In tandem with his role at Bose, Mr. Flanagan returned to school, receiving his Master of Business Administration from Boston University in 1998.
Since then, Robert Flanagan has served as Lead Software Engineer at Product Genesis and assumed his present duties at MPI Software, which develops custom software and hardware for the manufacturing industry. Based in Wayland, Massachusetts, for more than a decade, Robert H. Flanagan continues to handle application development, software and electrical engineering, and more for clients in various fields.
