Currently, Robert Dean Stebbins, MD, serves as Medical Research Consultant for Therataxis, LLC, a firm based in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, he and his colleagues use imaging analysis and mathematical computational models to investigate the simulation of fluid and particle distribution in the brain. Throughout his long and successful career, Robert D. Stebbins, MD, has acted as a clinician, researcher, instructor, and author of groundbreaking medical articles. In addition, he has served as a board member, medical director, and consultant to numerous startup companies involved with medical software and devices. 

In private practice in Palo Alto, California, from 1977 to 1997, Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins has also been involved in additional professional pursuits. He developed a long relationship with Stanford University, where he chaired various committees, acted as Deputy Chief of Medical Service for Stanford University Hospital, and served in the prestigious position of Clinical Professor of Medicine in the School of Medicine. He also founded the Private Physicians Group at Stanford, Inc., in 1993, and acted as both its President and Chairman of the Board. Robert D. Stebbins, MD, also held the title of Research Associate for the San Francisco-based California Pacific Medical Center and Research and Development Consultant for CardioSynopsis, Inc., in Sunnyvale, California. He holds certification with the Subspecialty Boards in Medical Oncology and Hematology and is a Diplomate for the American Board of Internal Medicine. 

While earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from the University of Southern California, Dr. Robert Dean Stebbins joined the United States Naval Reserve. He served his country from 1962 to 1970, joining the United States Medical Corps Reserve from 1967 to 1970. When he retired from the military, Robert Dean Stebbins, MD, completed an internship and residency at the Los Angeles County-University of Southern California Medical Center, where he remained to act as a Staff Physician for one year. After spending another year as a Research Associate in hematology at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons' Department of Pathology, he accepted the position of Assistant Attending Physician at New York’s Harlem Hospital Center. In 1973, Dr. Robert D. Stebbins began a fellowship in hematology at the New York University School of Medicine, where he acted as an Instructor in Medicine from 1974 to 1975. His next professional endeavors included a year as a Visiting Physician and Consulting Hematologist at Goldwater Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in oncology at the Yale University School of Medicine.
