Robert is an English qualified solicitor and trade mark attorney who advises domestic and international clients on branding and marketing issues.  He has particular expertise in online infringement and intellectual property finance and advises on global brand launches in the electronics and online "web 2.0" sectors.

 

Robert Cumming - Professional Experience:

 

Robert acts for clients in the national, pan-European and global protection of their brands.  He prosecutes, manages and enforces portfolios of new and well-known trade mark registrations and works closely with a strong network of associate law firms across the world to enforce the rights through intellectual property litigation.  

 

Robert works with customs authorities in the UK, Europe and North America in anti-counterfeit programmes.  Recoveries of counterfeit goods have resulted in enforcement and litigation measures being taken in Hong Kong and China.

 

Robert is involved in numerous domain name dispute proceedings through WIPO and national registrars.  He advises clients on the securitisation of intellectual property on a worldwide basis and acts for distressed businesses, their purchasers and administrators in raising liquid finance during insolvency proceedings.

 

Robert is a regular contributor to published intellectual property journals, including the ITMA Review and IP Magazine.
