Working in the highly specialised area of cardiac theatre, overseeing the anaesthetic nurse, scrub nurse and deputising in the absence of the Charge Nurse.

Acting as a Mentor to student nurses as well as new members of staff within the department and working as part of a large multi-disciplinary team, ensuring communication remains a priority for everyone.

Ensuring all equipment is maintained and fit for purpose and all instruments autoclaved for each case prior to patients's arrival.

 

Key Achievement

Successfully set up a template with the University Link Lecturer so that the students can gain their core skills and experience within the cardiac theatre environment.
