About Ridge Creek School, Dahlonega, Georgia
Tucked into the mountains outside of Atlanta, Ridge Creek School is a therapeutic boarding school that approaches education not only from an academic perspective but also from an experiential and psychological one. During the week, students meet in small classes with highly qualified teachers who are able to inspire students and instill in them the confidence needed to succeed. Ridge Creek School offers year-round SAT preparation and encourages students to enroll in a number of Honors classes and various Special Skills classes. With an impeccable college acceptance rate for its students who receive a diploma, as well as impressive college placements, Ridge Creek School academics are in a class of their own.
As a member of the Atlanta Athletic Conference, Ridge Creek School offers regional and state-level competitive athletics. In order to promote teamwork and communication skills, all students at Ridge Creek School are encouraged to participate in sports. Knowing that sports can vastly increase a student’s sense of self-confidence and self-achievement, Ridge Creek School offers a large variety of both boys and girls sports teams, including baseball, basketball, cross-country running, soccer, tennis, track and field, wrestling, weight lifting, and pep squad. Ridge Creek School is also home to an impressive equestrian program and an extensive experiential outdoor education program.
Ridge Creek School additionally recognizes the importance of parent and family involvement in a student’s education. The lines of communication between parents and school are constantly open, and parents are encouraged to visit their child at Ridge Creek School once each month. Entire families are welcome to visit during Ridge Creek School’s Parent Workshops where parents are able to meet with their child’s therapists and counselors, learn about parenting styles, and create family contracts. Furthermore, every on- or off-campus event at Ridge Creek School is open to all parents.
