During his tenure, Mr. Jobes has conducted interviews and hired all 300 staff members. His day-to-day duties include working closely with Southhaven?s departments and presiding over the activities of municipal committees. Every two weeks, he meets with the Chief of Police and Fire Captain to stay abreast of their ongoing operations. While carrying out his civic responsibilities, Mr. Jobes? goal remains to ensure the city?s continuing growth and prosperity.
Earlier in his career, Ricky Jobes spent six years in the position of Representative to the State Board for the Federal Emergency Management Association. He also served on the Board for the Mississippi School For Math and Science, which caters to gifted high school students in Columbus, Mississippi. Apart from his professional responsibilities, Mr. Jobes enjoys playing all sports. As a youth, he ranked All State and All American in baseball. A fan of golf, he can be found on the fairway, coaching as well as playing.
