Rick Benisasia - Professional Summary:

 

Rick Benisasia, founder of Benisasia Funeral Home, Inc., was born in British Guyana. After immigrating to Canada with his family in 1981, he enrolled in George Brown College. Mr. Benisasia joined his family’s real estate and transportation business after graduation.

The experience Mr. Benisasia gained working for the family company enabled him to found ABA Rick Moving and Storage Ltd. in 1990, which he ran for three years before opening a second business, Move Master Limited. Rick Benisasia ran both companies simultaneously, and he expanded into commercial real estate in 1996.

Over the next few years, Rick Benisasia invested in various commercial properties, purchasing and repairing most to resell at a profit. In the early 2000s, he began to notice the absence of a vital service in the community, namely a funeral home that served the South Asian population and which understood the customs and traditions of this group. Mr. Benisasia filled this need by selling his transportation businesses and opening Benisasia Funeral Home’s first location in Mississauga, Ontario, in 2002.

When a property in his hometown of Toronto became available to buy, Rick Benisasia purchased it and opened the second Benisasia Funeral Home location. Both funeral homes offer a number of chapels from which to choose, as well as parking facilities and multilingual staff members. Rick Benisasia and his team have pledged to render all services with the utmost compassion and dignity.

Services offered at both funeral homes owned by Rick Benisasia include funeral planning in accordance with the family’s wishes and South Asian traditions as well as arranging for the deceased to reach a final resting place in another country or province. The staff can also arrange for a deceased family member to be returned to Ontario from a different location. Mr. Benisasia’s Mississauga location is currently expanding to offer onsite cremation services in the near future.
