About Rick Anaya

Rick Anaya - Professional Summary:

In 2005, Vietnam veteran Rick Anaya founded the U.S. division of the Council for Educational Travel (CET), a nonprofit organization facilitating foreign travel and the cultural education of high school students. Anaya, formerly of Pace Institute International, began working with CET in 1994, as the owner and Director of CET Management in the United Kingdom. In addition to founding CETUSA, the U.S. division of the organization, Rick Anaya serves as its CEO, as well as Managing Director of CET Vancouver and founder and Director of CET International.

As CEO and Managing Director of the U.S. and Vancouver divisions of CET, Anaya assumes all responsibility for the program, its policies, and its administration. Fulfilling the role of Human Resources Director, he oversees the selection of Directors and senior staff members and manages the various departments within the organization. Rick Anaya also regulates financial and material resources, allocating them toward developing and implementing strategic policy and programs and promotional campaigns. Anaya represents CET in dealings with various governmental agencies and works internationally to forge overseas partnerships.

As founder and Managing Director of CET International, Anaya fulfills many of the same roles as at CETUSA, with the addition of overseeing programs in conjunction with CET Korea and Connect U.S. All of his efforts contribute to the main objective of allowing students to participate in international exchange programs and develop global awareness through foreign cultural immersion. Anaya’s efforts have led to an ever-increasing student membership in CETUSA and excellent rankings among secondary schools audited by the U.S. Department of State.

Anaya holds membership in several travel and cultural organizations, including the Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange and the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel.
