About Richie de Laet

Richie de Laet is a professional football player, who was born on November 28, 1988 in Antwerp, Belgium.

He honed his football skills while playing for the Royal Antwerp Football Club (FC) in Belgium and played nine matches for the Great Olds. This talented young defender improved his techniques on the pitch with every match he got to play for his club. Impressed with his performances, the Stoke City Football Club of the English Premier League signed Richie de Laet for a fee of £100,000 on August 17, 2007. He teamed with Ryan Shawcross, a fellow-player, and together they spent a year at the Great Olds. His former team-mate was also signed by Stoke City.

After his stint with the Potters, Richie de Laet joined the League Two team Athletic Football Club Bournemouth. He played his first match for the Cherries in a friendly played against the Portsmouth Football Club. Richie de Laet, an upcoming talent, is keen to adapt to the English conditions in the reserves in the 2008-09 season.
