Rich Fennessy’s experience in information technology has allowed him to capitalize on some of the most popular developments in the field: social networking and advertising. Possessing a solid background in IT coupled with award-winning leadership skills, Rich Fennessy has achieved many notable milestones since his graduation from Michigan State University in 1987. Rich Fennessy’s latest accomplishments include becoming Chairman and CEO of PeopleJar, Inc., a technology company focused on social networking and advertising. PeopleJar allows users to post their interests and connect with others who have similar pastimes worldwide. The social network can be used for personal, business, or humanitarian purposes.

Prior to his work with PeopleJar, Rich Fennessy held a senior-level executive position with IT solutions provider Insight. As President and CEO, Mr. Fennessy doubled the company’s size in 5 years, earning it recognition on the Fortune 500 list. After his leadership helped Insight to an increase in gross margin and net sales growth, Rich Fennessy was selected as VARBusiness Executive of the Year in 2008.

Before joining Insight, Rich Fennessy excelled in many senior-level roles at IBM. Over 17 years, he held multiple posts related to worldwide marketing and sales in the company’s PC Business, including several international and managerial positions, and was named Vice President of Marketing, PC Division. During his last years at the company, Rich Fennessy held responsibility for the IBM.com website and the company’s global call centers. Over ten billion dollars in net sales created by 350 million customer interactions were completed annually through the web or over the phone during his tenure. As General Manager of IBM.com, Mr. Fennessy led a cross-functional division comprised of over 7,000 team members, and he was one of the youngest A-Band executives ever to work for IBM.

Today, Rich Fennessy sits on the boards of a number of companies related to networking and advertising, including PeopleJar, Inc., and eTelemetry. He also serves as President of Xavier College Preparatory’s Board of Trustees.
