About Richard L. Verkler
Richard L. Verkler began his career in the legal sector at Jenner & Block, where he initially participated in the firm’s litigation group. As his career progressed, Richard L. Verkler was promoted to partner in the corporate and tax specialties area. For nearly four decades, Richard L. Verkler practiced at Jenner & Block and served as well as a long-standing member of the Executive and Finance Committees of the firm.
Richard L. Verkler later joined Schiff Hardin LLP, where he serves today as Of Counsel. Richard L. Verkler oversees Schiff Hardin’s Lake Forest, Illinois office. A talented and highly knowledgeable professional, Richard L. Verkler devotes much of his professional efforts to civil and criminal contested tax matters, private companies, and litigation avoidance.
Richard L. Verkler is licensed to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the U.S. Tax Court, and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Richard L. Verkler belongs to the American Bar Association’s Section of Taxation and Section of Business Law, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Lake County Bar Association, and the Legal Club of Chicago.
Richard L. Verkler received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Illinois, where he was an Illinois State Scholar. Richard L. Verkler received his legal education at the University of Wisconsin, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif honor society and Articles Editor of the Wisconsin Law Review. Excelling in legal studies, Richard L. Verkler was named a Knapp Scholar and received multiple American Jurisprudence awards. He graduated with his Juris Doctor.
