His first major breakthrough came on July 30, 2002 when he secured third place in Pot Limit Omaha at the Grand Slam of Poker Tournament. He made $4,800 at this tournament, which was held at the Hustler Casino in Los Angeles. Two years later, Richard Grijalva bagged a whopping $457,408 in the No-Limit Hold’em Main Event at the Five-Star World Poker Classic. Later that month, he secured a respectable fifth-place finish, cashing in $1,940 during the No-Limit Hold’em event at the No-Limit Tournament held at the Bellagio. With 10 cashes amounting to $504,902 in total winnings as of 2008, this poker player is bound to do extremely well in forthcoming tournaments.
