Dr. Richard D’Amico earned recognition as a National Merit Finalist while attending Regis High School in New York City and subsequently enrolled at nearby Fordham University. After one year at the institution, Dr. Richard D’Amico transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science. The year of his graduation, Dr. Richard D’Amico was awarded the New York State Regents Health Care Scholarship for Medicine and Dentistry. To pursue his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Richard D’Amico returned to New York and entered the New York University School of Medicine. In 1976, Dr. Richard D’Amico earned his MD and began serving an internal medicine internship at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. From 1977 to 1979, Dr. Richard D’Amico resided in Oklahoma, where he worked in the emergency room at Norman Municipal Hospital and completed a surgical residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. After finishing an additional residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York, Dr. Richard D’Amico joined New York-Presbyterian Hospital as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Resident. During his third and final year in the program, Dr. Richard D’Amico served as the Chief Resident. Following his service at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Dr. Richard D’Amico made his first of many trips abroad to perform volunteer operations for those in need. Throughout his career, Dr. Richard D’Amico made numerous trips to Africa, Central America, and Asia as the director of plastic surgery teams. In 1986, Dr. Richard D’Amico earned certification from the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. Currently, Dr. Richard D’Amico manages his own plastic surgery center in Englewood, New Jersey, and holds the position of Chief of the Plastic Surgery department at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. A member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Dr. Richard D’Amico served as the organization’s President in 2008.
