About Riccardo Bavaj
Riccardo Bavaj - Professional Summary:
Riccardo Bavaj is a scholar whose research focuses on modern German history as well as the history of Western Europe and the United States. He studied medieval and modern history, Eastern European history and economics at the University of Bonn and the University of Southampton (U.K.).
Bavaj was awarded his Master’s degree in 2001, followed by his Ph.D. in 2004. After graduation, he established a presence in academia, first becoming a Research Fellow at the Institute for Regional Studies in Münster, and then being appointed a Lecturer in Modern European History at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. While lecturing at the University of St Andrews, he continued to conduct research on modern German and Western European history.
Currently, Riccardo Bavaj is on leave from the University of St Andrews, having been awarded a two-year research fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. He is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at Saint Louis University in Missouri.
