About Rena Ackerman
Devoted to her family, former pharmacist Rena Ackerman engaged in the activities of the Westchester Day School’s Parent Teacher Association when her children attended the institution. During this period, Ackerman assisted with a number of fundraising events. Still involved in public service activities, she now supports The American Israel Public Affairs Committee, A Package from Home, and Young Israel of New Rochelle. The Scarsdale, New York, resident also counts reading, jogging, and skiing among her favorite hobbies. When her daughter signed up for classes in England, Rena Ackerman flew to Europe to see her. Ackerman often travels overseas to go to Israel, but Paris, France, continues to be her favorite place to visit. While there, she prefers to stay in the 5th Arrondissement Latin Quarter because of its culture, beauty, and closeness to the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Sorbonne, and many bistros. A lover of art, Ackerman considers Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Pablo Picasso, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir her favorite artists, and Paris affords her the opportunity to enjoy some of their most memorable works. Professionally, Rena Ackerman worked as a pharmacist, utilizing her degrees from New York University and the Arnold & Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Long Island University. Ackerman answered her customers’ questions about medical disorders, pharmaceuticals, and immunizations, in addition to filling prescriptions.
