Relana McGlothan, also known in the music arena as “Izana,” is a multi-talented entertainer. While in Germany, recovering from knee complications, Ms. McGlothan began her renowned musical career by writing rap lyrics for friends. It was during this time that Ms. McGlothan realized her passion for music extended beyond simply writing hooks for fellow musicians and began a musical career featuring her own unique style. Her talent and musical style has earned her the respect of other artists and labeled her a dedicated up and coming musical artist.
Relana McGlothan attended the University of Maryland where she studied business administration. From there, she went on to continue her educational endeavors by attending AUI University to study business management and computer science. After her educational pursuits, Ms. McGlothan joined the military. During this time in the military, she was asked by her brother to write rap lyrics for several friends. In 2003, she made a short trip home where she recorded her first song with a local artist. Upon returning to the military post in Germany, she won a talent show on post.
In 2004, Relana McGlothan began to devote herself more fully to following her dreams of working as a performer, composer, and songwriter. She returned to the US and recorded with a local rapper and participated in a singing competition held in Florida. Ms. McGlothan is a talented dancer and model, but her true passion is her music and singing. While in Germany, she spent two years performing as the lead singer for the Funky Leghorns Band in Stuttgart, Germany.
Relana McGlothan has recorded several songs with a variety of producers both in America and in Germany. Her newest album, Tease, is due to be released this year and features a song called “Thicky Thick Girl,” which will also be released as a single.
In her spare time, Relana McGlothan is a supporter of a number of charities including Taste of the Nation and No Kid Hungry. She enjoys working out and collecting classic movies.
