About Ratnam Jain
With board certification and more than 24 years of medical experience in the United States, United Kingdom, and India, Ratnam Jain, MBBS, MD, serves as an obstetrician and gynecologist for residents in the Clifton, Belleville, and Newark, New Jersey areas. Currently, Dr. Ratnam Jain runs her own private practice, Special Care Ob-Gyn. Established in 2002 after entering private practice in 2000, Special Care Ob-Gyn offers exceptional care and quality service to women in Passaic and Essex Counties. Dr. Ratnam Jain makes a special effort to see her patients and serve their needs at any time.
Alongside her private practice, Dr. Jain also serves as the Attending Obstetrician and Gynecologist at St. Mary’s Hospital in Passaic, Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, and Mountainside Hospital in Montclair. Dr. Ratnam Jain started her medical career in her homeland of India, after studying medicine at Rajasthan University in Jaipur. Earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1985, finishing first in her class and final examinations, as well as a Master of Science in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 1988, Dr. Jain initially trained at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College in nearby Ajmer for four years.
Starting out with a rotatory internship in many medical fields including surgery and preventative medicine, Dr. Ratnam Jain received board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1985. Having completed her education, Dr. Ratnam Jain traveled to the United Kingdom to gain further experience in obstetrics and gynecology. She served in many capacities in several hospitals. After extensive clinical training and experience, she received board certification in obstetrics and gynecology in 1993 and became a member of the prestigious Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the United Kingdom. Dr. Jain then moved to the United States to complete her training as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey and in the United Kingdom, Dr. Ratnam Jain holds board certifications from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, United Kingdom.
