Randy Jensen from Fort Collins, Colorado, United States, started playing poker career at the age of five. He even organized poker games in his junior high school and played with his friends. While Randy Jensen was still in school he realized that he was making good money through poker. He also assisted his mother in real estate and now pursues poker and the real estate business with equal zeal.
His involvement with a private poker club in Fort Collins, Colorado was his first experience with Pot-Limit Hold'em game. In 1997, Randy Jensen went to Las Vegas, where he won $4,000 within three days. Then he moved to California and in just two days, he earned $30,000 after playing in the $10-$20 Pot-Limit Omaha.
On the January 8, 2002 Randy Jensen walked away with $83,085 and secured the first place in Event 4 Limit Hold'em at the 3rd Annual Jack Binion World Poker Open (WPO). The next major winning for Randy Jensen came on January 15, 2002, when he played in Event 11 World Poker Open - Pot-Limit Hold'em at the same tournament. In the event, Randy Jensen finished in fourth place and made $12,513. At the LA Poker Classic tournament, he again ranked fourth and went home with $26,910 from Event 1 Limit Hold'em held on February 1, 2002. On August 23, Randy Jensen made $25,650 by securing second place in the Limit Hold'em event of the Legends of Poker World Poker Tour (WPT) Season 2 tournament. The year 2004 was eventful for Randy Jensen, as he made his highest earnings of $656,460 in at the 2004 Jack Binion World Poker Open in Tunica with second-place finish. Randy Jensen would ever remember this event as he lost his entire bank balance in ten days. He returned home where his wife gave him the moral support he needed, pepping him up to return to Tunica with $20,000. On returning, he entered the WPT's $10,000 buy-in event and finished second after Barry Greenstein to earn $656,460. At the Mirage Poker Showdown/WPT Event Season 4 Tournament held on May 22, 2005, Randy Jensen secured third rank and bagged $10,200 in the Satellite No-Limit Hold'em event. His next victory followed very soon in the Professional Poker Tour (PPT) Freeroll – No-Limit Hold'em that took place on May 27, 2005. In the event, he secured second rank and walk away with $100,000 in prize money.
On June 28, 2006, Randy Jensen finished 11th and bagged $27,628 at Event 3 - World Series of Poker (WSOP) Pot-Limit Hold'em at the 37th Annual WSOP. His fortunes on June 21, 2007 at the 38th Annual World Series of Poker were far better. He ranked 6th and went home with $59,220 in Event 36 - WSOP Omaha Hi/Lo World Championship. Randy Jensen has had many highs and lows in his poker career. It is because of his wild playing style that he has a hard time holding onto the chips that he has amassed. He has cashed in at 12 events, and his total winnings amount to $1,010,277, as of 2008.
Randy Jensen claims that his nickname used to be 'the Minnow' because he could command so little respect, but later, he came to be called 'the Dream Crusher' because of his habit of shattering the pipe dreams poker players have at tournaments.
