Raj Rana - Professional Summary:
Raj is a professional management consultant dedicated to helping international organizations to achieve substantial performance improvements. He has over 13 years of experience in international development, evaluating organizations and leading initiatives to enhance their strategies, structures, processes, competencies, and corporate culture. His clients have included international development agencies (e.g. the World Food Programme, United Nations Relief and Works Agency), governments (e.g. the Philippines Government, SIDA), and Non-Governmental Organizations (e.g. DRC, B’tselem, Oxfam and ACF). Working at both field and headquarters levels, Raj has demonstrated a unique ability to combine practical operational management experience with exceptional analysis and facilitation skills to help organizations achieve increased performance, more innovative solutions and better results.
His academic and professional background includes professional and Master’s degrees in Architecture; eight years with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) where he held senior management positions in country delegations and strategic advisory positions in the organization’s headquarters; and five years as the Director of the WolfGroup consultants.
His clients in evaluation, policy and strategy development have included evaluations and projects on behalf of WFP, UNRWA, IFRC, ICRC, HPCR, SIDA, DRC, Geneva Call and B’tselem. Raj has contributed to a broad range of strategy and policy initiatives over the past 5 years, including examining the relationship between civilian and military actors in humanitarian response (ICRC, SPHERE, VOICE), the growing importance of peacebuilding (GCSP project on International Geneva and the UN Peacebuilding Commission) and in examining the increasing complexity of multi-agency response to complex emergencies and natural disasters.
