Pinal Rohit Shah was a wicket-keeper for the Mumbai Indians team in the Indian Premier League. He is also a right-handed batsman.
Pinal was born on November 3, 1987 in Baroda, India. His exemplary wicket-keeping skills and tidy batting abilities have seen him be a part of the U-19 Youth World Cup squad. Pinal Shah has played for Baroda, India Red and India Under-19s and most recently for the IPL. He has played 5 first-class matches for Baroda and boasts an aggregate score of 377 runs, including a magnificent double-century of 217 (not out) against Services in the match held in the beginning of 2006. He usually is a useful middle-order batsman but also opens on many occasions for his state (Baroda, Gujarat) while at other times he plays lower/down-order like in the case of Mumbai Indians.
Until now Pinal Shah has played in 4 T20 matches and 11 U-19 ODIs. But somehow, he was unsuccessful in paralleling his batting performance exhibited on many occasions whilst playing for Baroda. So far, Pinal has claimed 23 wickets at ODI levels. His sheer determination, gritty dedication and nimble wicket-keeping have guaranteed him a place in the starting eleven as a specialist wicket-keeper in the U-19 World Cup team. Pinal has had a chance to match his skills with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Harbhajan Singh, Shaun Pollock, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Andre Nel who played alongside him for the Mumbai Indians gang in the IPL. Way to go Boy!
