About Peter Murnane
Shortly after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1980, Peter Murnane joined Chemical Bank (now JPMorgan Chase & Co.) as Assistant Secretary and Lending Officer. In these roles, Peter Murnane helped the firm develop a presence in the Canadian mining industry and created millions of dollars worth of new business assets. Four years later, he departed the company to pursue his Master of Business Administration in Finance, which he earned with Distinction from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1986.
In the summer of 1985, Peter Murnane served as Associate of Mergers and Acquisitions at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC (now Lazard LLC), working in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, leveraged buyouts, and takeover defense. The following year, he accepted a position in Investment Banking in the Transportation Group at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. During his nearly 10-year tenure with the firm and as a Director, Peter Murnane increased industry penetration by over 35 percent and brought in annual revenues of $20 to $30 million. After leading it Initial Public Offering (IPO), For the next six months, Peter Murnane acted as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings. Despite a relatively short stay with the global cargo airline, he significantly improved its stock prices, sales revenues, and operating profit.
Between the years 1996 and 2008, Peter Murnane held a variety of executive positions in the aviation industry. The capacities he fulfilled within that period include: Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Operating Officer (COO) at International Airline Support Group, Inc.; CFO and COO at North-South Airways; General Partner at Barlow Partners, LP; EVP and CFO at Mesa Air Group; and Acting CFO and COO at VistaJet Holdings SA. Since 2009, Peter Murnane has functioned as Managing Partner at Barlow Partners, LLC, where he oversees the financial and operational aspects of the firm. In addition, Peter Murnane provides advice on mergers and acquisitions and restructuring to corporate clients such as Amiral Holdings and C.Y.L.E. Capital Partners.
