Peter Crouch is an International football player born on January 30, 1981 in Macclesfield, England.
Peter Crouch represented the England Under-20 team internationally at the 1999 Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Youth Championship. He was also included in the England Under-21 team and scored once in the European Under-21 Championship held in May 2002.
Peter Crouch won his first international cap for England’s senior squad in a match against Columbia during the team’s tour of the United States. He scored his first goal for England in a friendly match against Uruguay held on March 1, 2006 and was included in England’s squad that took part in the 2006 FIFA World Cup the same month. Peter Crouch scored a hat-trick for England on June 3, 2006 in a pre-World Cup friendly match against Jamaica and helped his team win 6-0.
He started in a 2006 FIFA World Cup game against Trinidad and Tobago and scored his first competitive international goal. Peter Crouch had an impressive result during England’s 2008 European Championships qualifying campaign. In August 2006, he started in a friendly match against Greece and scored two goals. On September 2, in an opening qualifying match for the 2008 European Championships, Peter Crouch scored two goals and contributed for his team’s 5-0 win over Andorra. These goal-scoring performances made Peter Crouch the first player to reach ten goals in a single calendar year, and he was England’s top scorer in their qualifying campaign.
Peter Crouch started his football career by playing for Tottenham Hotspur’s youth team and went on to sign a contract with the club’s senior team on July 2, 1998. During his tenure with the club, he went on loan to Dulwich Hamlet and IFK Hässleholm. On July 28, 2000 he moved to Queens Park Rangers for a transfer fee of £60,000 and scored ten goals from 42 appearances for this club. The following season he was transferred to Portsmouth for £1.25 million and netted 18 league goals in 37 starts. In March 2002, Aston Villa bought Peter Crouch for £5 million, and he scored a goal for the club on his home debut against Newcastle United. After his stint at Villa, Peter Crouch made a move to Southampton for the 2004-2005 season and scored twelve goals from twenty seven appearances for the club.
On July 19, 2005 Southampton sold Peter Crouch on a four-year contract to Liverpool that was worth £7 million. He made his first goal for the club on December 3, 2005 in a match against Wigan Athletic. On March 31, 2007, he scored the first hat-trick of his club career in a 4-1 win against Arsenal and this feat was termed as a “Perfect Hat-Trick” as the goals came from his right foot, left foot and head. Overall, he made 85 appearances and scored 22 goals during his tenure at Liverpool.
On July 11, 2008 it was officially confirmed that Portsmouth had bought Peter Crouch on a deal that was worth £11 million, out of which £2 million would be given depending on his performance for the club. Peter Crouch was given the number 9 jersey, which he wore during his initial spell at the club. As of 2008, he has featured in 3 games that include a goal-scoring performance.
