Paul Kobel is a 39-year-old poker player and holistic practitioner from Oakland, California. Kobel has the distinction of winning the biggest prize in the world of poker – the gold bracelet.
At the 37th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas in August 2006, Paul Kobel participated in the $ 1,500 No Limit Hold'em event with over 1,00 other entrants. Playing for a share in the $1.3 million pool, Kobel put in superlative performance to make the final table and then go on to take the win after a heads-up with runner-up Tyler Andrews. Along with his maiden WSOP bracelet, the win also brought Kobel a winner’s check of $316,144.
Paul Kobel then secured a 9th place finish in the $5,000 No Limit Hold'em Championship Event at a WSOP Circuit Harrah's Lake Tahoe tournament in Stateline. In September 2007, at the WSOP Circuit Lake Tahoe tournament, Kobel finished runner-up to John Murphy in the $1,060 No Limit Hold'em event.
In 2008, Paul Kobel managed two in-the-money finishes at the 39th World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, both in No Limit Hold’em events. Finishing 62nd and 30th in the two events, Kobel took home total earnings of 17,601.
