Paul Evans is a professional poker player, who lives in Mount Shasta, California, the United States of America. He started playing poker when he was just twelve and regards No-Limit Hold’em as his favorite game in poker. The first notable feat in his career was his second-place finish in Event 20 No-Limit Hold’em at the 31st Annual World Series of Poker (WSOP) in May 2000, which gave him an awesome $171,570. The following month, on June 14, he achieved yet another milestone in his career with his first-place finish in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Pot of Gold Tournament and won $8,640. Two days later, in the same tournament, Paul Evans again secured first place outlasting a field of 69 players to collect $8,280.
On March 29, 2001, Paul Evans finished as the runner-up in the Pot-Limit Hold’em event at the Great Britain Hold’em Championships held at the Rainbow Casino and took home $14,060. On April 1, 2001, Paul Evans secured a respectable fourth-place finish in the same tournament and walked away with $5,624. Two days later, he made it to the final table and finished in seventh place in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Northern California Championship and collected $1,770. The following month, on May 24, he came eighth in the Pot-Limit Hold’em event at the Spring No-Limit Festival 2001.
Paul Evans soon followed it up with an impressive show on June 4, 2001, to finish first in Event 14 Limit Hold’em at the Summer Pot of Gold Tournament and bag $4,290 in prize money. He reached the final table in several major events that took place between July 2001 and June 2002. This includes his victory in the the Pot-Limit Hold’em event at the Fall Peppermill Poker Tournament in October 2001 where Paul Evans outlasted a field of 50 players to come first and earn $2,000. In December, the same year, he finished as the runner-up in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the Holiday Classic Poker Tournament, collecting $1,038 in the process. He again secured second place in Event 15 No-Limit Hold’em at the Pot of Gold Tournament, winning $1,957 in June 2002.
In September 2004, Paul Evans came third in Event 1 No-Limit Hold’em at the Autumn Festival, bagging $6,215 for his performance. He had another notable finish as the runner-up in Event 3 No-Limit Hold’em at the 38th Annual WSOP in June 2007 and made a staggering amount of $450,150 in prize money. This event took place at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and had 2998 participants. In November 2007, though Paul Evans missed the first place, he won $26,576 by securing second place in the No-Limit Hold’em event at the $100,000 Guaranteed Tournament.
