Having earned her MD at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Stamm completed internship and residency training in psychiatry at Mt. Zion Hospital and Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute from 1978. Both facilities are affiliated with the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Stamm subsequently spent four years at Mt. Zion Hospital as an attending medical staff member. During this period, she presented at a Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society workshop on the subject “Exploring Group Psychotherapy in the Treatment of Severe Eating Disorders.” 
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Stamm serves as a consulting psychiatrist at Serenity Knolls, which provides outpatient rehabilitative services in a rural setting. She also consults with Recovery Systems, a respected Marin County practice. Dr. Stamm’s work with her own patients encompasses individual, group, and couples sessions, and she undertakes psychiatric evaluations as necessary. With psychopharmacological qualifications, she also provides medication consultations. 
In her free time, Patricia Stamm, MD, enjoys reading and creative writing, and she has a passion for writing songs about finding peace. She also enjoys hiking and has competed in equestrian show competitions in New England. Patricia Stamm, MD, supports a variety of charitable organizations focused on animal rights, Native Americans, and the environment.
