Pascal Zuberbuhler is a Swiss goalkeeper, who was born on January 8, 1971 in Frauenfeld. With an impressive 51 caps to his credit with the Swiss national football team, he made his debut in 1994 against the United States. Pascal Zuberbuhler holds the record for most successive matches at an international tournament without conceding (five games). He played his last game for the Swiss national team in a 2-0 victory over Portugal in the final group match, at the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in 2008.
Pascal Zuberbuhler kick started his football career with Frauenfeld, a youth club in Switerland, in 1983. He made his senior debut for Grasshopper-Club Zürich, a Swiss multisport club, in 1992 and made 187 appearances for it in his seven year spell. During his tenure, Pascal Zuberbuhler was a part of the winning team at the Swiss Super League three times and the Swiss Cup once. In 1999, he moved to FC Basel and played 217 games, including three victories in the Swiss Super League and twice victory at the Swiss Cup. Pascal Zuberbuhler became popular for his save in a 1-1 tie against Liverpool in the Champions League game. Later in 2000, he went to FC Aarau on loan, and he played in 2 games. Pascal Zuberbuhler made a brief stay with Bayer 04 Leverkusen Football, a German football club, for which he 13 played league games and five Champions League games during 2000-01.
In July 2006, he signed a two year contract with West Bromwich Albion F.C., an English professional football club, and made his debut in a friendly match against Motherwell F.C., a Scottish football club. He earned a clean sheet in his competitive debut in a 2-0 win over Hull City in August 2006. Pascal Zuberbuhler marked his return to the first team with a clean sheet in the 3–0 FA Cup win over Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. In 2007, he moved to the Swiss club, Neuchâtel Xamax, on a free transfer and played 51 games for it. He was a part of the winning team at the Swiss 2nd Division (Challenge League) in 2007. Pascal Zuberbuhler joined Fulham F.C., on trial in July 2008 and made his debut as a second-half substitute against Korean side Busan I'Park before signing a one year deal with the club.
