About Pankaj Dharmani

Pankaj Dharmani is a 34-yr old Indian cricket player who sporadically played for the Indian team. Born on 27th of September, 1974, Dharmani hails from Delhi. He is a right-handed batsman and a wicketkeeper.

Pankaj is as much capable behind the stumps as he is while in front of them. His first match was a state-level one where he played for Punjab and against Maharashtra in the 1992-93 Ranji Trophy finale. He then played several matches for Punjab and his consistent performances with the bat and behind the stumps earned him a place in the Indian team that played for the Titans Cup in 1996.

Pankaj Dharmani has scored quite a few centuries when he played domestic cricket. In the 1999-2000 first class season, he scored a whopping 1,194 runs in 13 matches. In the Ranji Trophy alone, he aggregated 830 runs from 10 matches with scores of 70, 305 not out, 202 not out and 101. The year 2007 proved to be a fruitful one for Dharmani as he became the highest overall run-scorer for his state in the competition in the Ranji Trophy season opener against Andhra. This performance marked his entry into the Kings XI Punjab team in the Indian Premier League. Second only to Rajasthan Royals in IPL, Kings XI Punjab displayed great cricketing abilities as a team.

Although being a regular in the Punjab team for the Ranji Trophy for years now, Pankaj hasn’t been able to achieve a secure position in the Indian team. But that doesn’t stop this determined man from showing some extra-ordinary potential from time-to-time on the crease.
