About Pamela Martin
A Novelist, Chairwoman, Global Marketing Executive and a TV Personality
I am an accomplished fiction author, global marketing executive, and TV personality. I have worked on various television projects with the Style Network since 2009.
I am also associated with various groups and clubs in Dallas, Texas where I have a very soft corner for the social cause and support numerous Texas charities. I am a Board Member of The Fashionistas, a non-profit organization in Dallas, Texas, that celebrates artists, entrepreneurs and visionaries that make-up the fashion industry and Chairwoman of the Luxury Marketing Council of Texas.
I have spent many years traveling abroad where I have obtained a multitude of colleagues and friends. I have utilized my experiences with various countries and cultures when writing the Hard Whispers fiction novels - Hard Whispers.
For quite sometime, I have constantly been criticized by cyberbullies. It is my belief that due to certain scenarios around the global hit TV show, Big Rich Texas there has been a cause waged to discredit me. This is a major annoyance and I urge the many who are engaged in cyber-bullying campaigns to stop. I believe in resistance (legally), not harmful revenge and I ask you my true friends and fans to judge my real reputation based on the person that you know not what you hear or read. Finally the truth is coming out. It is said – ‘Truth alone triumphs; not falsehood’. There is nowhere to escape from the laws that protect people from harassment and I support the fight against online bullying and cyber harassment. Read settlement remarks below from former plaintiffs in the case filed in Dallas courts:
Settlement Response from Dena Miller and Pamela Martin-Duarte June 2012
After meeting face-to-face, Pamela Martin-Duarte and Dena Miller have determined to fully resolve the disputes between them. Pamela and Dena respect each other as strong, opinionated, intelligent Texas women who are both well-regarded professionals and philanthropists. They believe that women can be their own worst enemies and desire to not contribute to that cycle or participate in a game of mutual destruction. Instead, they seek to act as positive forces for women in the Dallas community and beyond. Pamela and Dena further deplore the cyber bullying that has become common throughout the country and that has manifested itself within the Dallas community. Cyber bullying, especially by anonymous individuals, is destructive to the victims and the community as a whole. Dena is sensitive to the harm that Pamela may have suffered and supports Pamela’s efforts to protect her reputation and good name when confronted with the false comments posted to the D Magazine blog and the other false statements made about Pamela. As a result, Dena has endeavored to assist Pamela in identifying the source of the comments at the heart of the lawsuit. Pamela and Dena encourage those who engage in cyber bullying to stop now and instead use their time to engage in positive behavior that is beneficial to the community. Having resolved their disputes, Pamela and Dena have put aside their differences and intend to treat each other with respect, to work to discourage cyber bullying, and to promote the many philanthropic ventures they both so passionately support.
Another Settlement from Terri Hernandez, July 12, 2012
Apology is one of the hardest words in the English language. When you realize that you’ve made a mistake and you have hurt other people in the process you owe it to those people to make amends. On February 25, 2012, registered on D Magazine’s Front Burner Blog under the username of Dr. Hamilton, Kimberly Smith and I made a post about Pamela Martin Duarte (“Pamela”). The statements made by me about Pamela are not true. I had no basis for making such outrageous allegations. In fact, I mistook Pamela for another woman who I used to be acquainted with.
I am truly sorry for the harm that my false statements have caused to Pamela and her family. I encourage those who engage in cyberbullying to think about the harm that their Mean spirited acts caused to those that they attack and to stop.
