Omar Abou Ghaouche - Professional Summary:     Having lived in Brazil’s southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul, Omar Abou Ghaouche’s parents moved the family to Foz do Iguaçu when he was young in order to pursue their business in international trade. Omar Abou Ghaouche assisted with the family enterprise as a child and learned business skills that would prove useful after the completion of his postsecondary studies. Growing up near Brazil’s famous Iguaçu Falls, Omar Abou Ghaouche has contributed to the Foz do Iguaçu community since the late 1990s. Currently pursuing the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and marketing studies in Atlanta, Georgia, Omar Abou Ghaouche has delegated his family business activities to his younger brother. Omar Abou Ghaouche studied at Universidade de Marília in São Paulo from 1994 until 1998 before returning to his hometown of Foz do Iguaçu on the border of Argentina and Paraguay. Omar Abou Ghaouche has also studied at Universidad Católica Nuestra Señora de la Asunción in Asunción, Paraguay. Upon returning to Foz do Iguaçu, Omar Abou Ghaouche volunteered in public health initiatives for the city’s underprivileged. Despite a relatively sound education and healthcare system, Foz do Iguaçu suffers from relatively high unemployment outside of the tourism industry due to its remote location. Omar Abou Ghaouche speaks Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, and English, and he has been called upon to serve as a translator for academic conferences in Brazil, Argentina, and Paraguay. Omar Abou Ghaouche also served as a professor’s assistant during his university studies. A fan of motor sports, Omar Abou Ghaouche enjoys riding his motorcycle and go kart. Omar Abou Ghaouche also swims recreationally, and he was a member of the Universidade de Marília swim team. In his spare time, Omar Abou Ghaouche enjoys the books of internationally well-known Brazilian author and proponent of file sharing, Paulo Coelho.
