About Me:
As the only board-certified prosthodontist in central and north Palm Beach County and Martin County, Dr. Omar Abdo offers unique dental solutions to patients with missing teeth or other oral tissue. Dr. Abdo will sometimes work with dentists of other specialties, such as oral surgeons or orthodontists, in unusual cases.
Most of the time, Dr. Omar Abdo relies on his state-of-the-art facility in Jupiter, Florida, the Jupiter Institute for Prosthodontics & Implant Dentistry, which he founded in 2005. This facility comes equipped with the latest technology for prosthodontics, such as digital X-rays and fiber-optic magnification.
Patients who are starting or about to undergo chemotherapy or radiation treatments for cancer make up one group for whom Dr. Omar Abdo’s skill is especially useful. Chemotherapy and radiation often produce the side effects of extensive tooth decay. Dr. Abdo and his staff can use fluoride treatments, extract infected teeth, apply varnishes to slow decay, and even use special shielding to protect the salivary glands from the effects of radiation, thus preventing the dry mouth that often accompanies such treatments for cancer located in the head and neck.
Dr. Omar Abdo also possesses talent at restoring lost teeth or saving existing teeth in a way that returns both function and aesthetics to a patient’s smile, preventing embarrassment or loss of confidence.
