Nicky Sherwood is founder and editor of FromBritainWithLove.com, the online guide to all things beautiful and British made.

 

Nicky has been drawing, making and creating things since she was old enough to pick up a crayon. After a degree in Three Dimensional Design, Nicky worked in marketing and new product development, dreaming up new products for companies such as L'Oreal, John Frieda, and ethical brands The Body Shop and Duchy Originals.

 

The idea for FromBritainWithLove.com came about while Nicky was working for organic food brand Duchy Originals where she was involved in sourcing British made products. On her travels around the country she met many inspirational artisans and producers, with fantastic stories to tell, and was surprised that there was no single website where these businesses could all be found together in one place.

 

Having also worked as a freelance style writer for House Beautiful and BBC Good Homes magazines, Nicky wanted the site to be more than simply a directory, and was determined to convey some of the excitement and passion that she'd felt when meeting these inspirational business owners. With its style-led directory and exciting editorial features, Nicky hopes that the site will not only be a celebration of home-grown talent and creativity, but will also inspire people to rediscover the pleasure of making things for themselves.

 

Nicky is passionate about craft, design, and travelling around Britain. She currently lives in West London with her husband and three year old son, and dreams of moving to Cornwall!

Our mission is very simple... we want to let people know that there are beautiful things being made in studios, workshops, factories and farms across Britain every day, and our aim is to help you find them.

 

From the Shetlands to the Scillies, we've searched the nation to seek out and feature the very best British made products, from cool crafts and unique homewares, to original designer fashions, delicious locally sourced food and gorgeous handmade gifts, all made with love in Britain.

 

We know that it's not always easy to find products that have been made in Britain, so we've created a unique online directory which showcases hundreds of Britain's most talented and creative producers, from designer-makers to craftspeople, food producers and retailers, all dedicated to creating or selling beautiful British made products. Some are family businesses which have been around for generations, others are new start-ups by creative entrepreneurs (and mumpreneurs!), all are inspirational and we're delighted to be able to share them with you.
