About Nicky Featherstone


Nicky Featherstone, a professional English football player, was born on September 22, 1988 in Goole, a town in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.


His passion for the game of football made him join the Centre of Excellence at an early age of eight. As a forward, he developed his striking skills at the Hull City youth club and signed his first pro contract with the club in December 2006. Nicky Featherstone made his first senior appearance, as a late substitue in the 2-0 win over Burnley at the KC Stadium in December 30, 2006.


Nicky Featherstone started playing in the midfield position in the 2007-08 season and has performed remarkably well. He helped his team win against Crewe Alexandra and against Wigan Athletic during the Carling Cup matches in 2007-08. Of his six appearances as a substitute during the 2007-08 season, he gave a memorable display against Chelsea in the third round of the Carling Cup. Owing to his excellent performances, in September 2007, Hull City extended the contract with Nicky Featherstone until June 2010.


He has also made 2 league appearances for the North Ferriby club and has scored 2 goals for the side during the 2006-07 season.


For his outstanding performances for Hull City, Nicky Featherstone was short-listed for the Wickes Football League Apprentice of the Year award and was also named the Tigers’ Young Player of the Year for the 2006-07 season.
