"Dr.Nicholas Cappello. was born on March 12, 1948 in Brooklyn New York as the 2 child to Freda a dress maker and Joesph, who worked as Pepsi Cola salesman. For nearly the entire first 12 years of his life, he and his parents, his maternal grandparents, and his mother's sister.lived in the same apartment building in Brooklyn.
Dr.Cappello's strong family roots provided a proper foundation for the challenges he would face later in life. His maternal grandfather, Leonard was blind from glaucoma and his earlist memories were of walking him as a seeing eye 5 year old to get his hair cut. He would also walk him and lenoard would tell him stories of life in SCILY where he hailed from/
Dr. Cappello excelled academically upon entering PS145school. In his twelve years of public education he achieved a perfect record - straight A's for 12 years. He also played varsity football, He graduated from Andrew Jackson High School 1966 During the summer months throughout high school and college, Dr. Cappello earned money for his education by working with his father delivering pepsi to stores .It was back breaking work and gave him insight how important education was/
Dr. Cappello was accepted to St. Johns University in their Early Decision program. He continued to excel as an undergraduate . He completed the requirements for his Bachelor's degree in 4 years, .. He gained admission to many of the top medical schools in the country and chose to attend Creighton School of Medicine..in1970
In 1974 Dr. Cappello graduated from medical school in the top third of his class. He became interested in Orthopedics after junior clerkship with Dr Tomolo sparked his interest."
