About Neil Hafer
Neil Hafer, Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Rent-A-Car operations in Utah and Southern Idaho, has fostered a reputation for supporting charitable and educational organizations in the greater Salt Lake City area. Long active with United Way, he joined the Board of Directors for the Salt Lake City chapter in June 2011. The Enterprise office headed by Neil Hafer won the United Way of Salt Lake’s Corporate Partner of the Year Award in 2011 for the firm’s outstanding efforts in volunteering and fund raising.
With his wife Ashley, Neil Hafer has earned membership in the Tocqueville Society, the United Way’s national group of donors who promote the giving programs and philanthropic goals of the organization. Salt Lake City automotive businessman Ken Garff founded another favorite charity of Neil Hafer’s, Ken Garff’s Keys to Success program. Partnering with the Governor of Utah, KUTV 2, and various Salt Lake City radio stations, the program offers incentives from various corporate sponsors to high school students who excel in academics, citizenship, service, class attendance, and other areas.
Neil Hafer enthusiastically supports college athletics as well. Recently, he joined the Board of Directors for the Crimson Club, which awards scholarships and other financial support to student-athletes attending the University of Utah. The Board of Trustees of the century-old Christ United Methodist Church, the largest Methodist congregation in Utah, also asked Neil Hafer to serve as one of their members.
A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a Bachelor’s in economics, Mr. Hafer has worked for Enterprise Rent-A-Car in southern California and Puerto Rico. Married 16 years, Neil and Ashley Hafer have twin 11-year-old daughters. An avid fan of the natural beauty of Utah, Neil Hafer enjoys both snow and water skiing, hiking, bicycling, tennis, running, and golf.
