Ndjitap Geremi is a professional footballer, who was born on December 20, 1978 in Bafoussam, Cameroon. Being a versatile player, he can play in the right-back, midfield or right-wing position. His father, Samuel, has played for the Cameroon national football team in the 1970s.

Ndjitap Geremi made his international debut with the Cameroon national team in 1996. He captained the team to victory in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and fetched them the gold medal. Ndjitap Geremi played in six qualifier games of the World Cup (2002, 2004) and has represented the country in the African Nations Cup (2006, 2008).

Ndjitap Geremi kick-started his football career at Racing Bafoussam in 1995. After brief acquaintances with Cerro Porteño and Gençlerbirli?i S.K. during the 1997-99 season, he signed for Real Madrid in July 1999. He was a part of the Real Madrid winning team in the 2000 Union of European Football Association (UEFA) Champions League, the Spanish La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup held in 2001. His association with the club lasted 4 years, during which he made 45 league appearances. Ndjitap Geremi went on loan to Middlesbrough during the 2002-03 season, and his brilliant performances for the club earned him the ‘Middlesbrough Player for the Season’ award.

Ndjitap Geremi signed with Chelsea in August 2003, for £7 million and played a very crucial role for the club. He was a part of Chelsea when it clinched the Premier League title (2005, 2006) and the 2005 Football Association (FA) Community Shield. Ndjitap Geremi contributed two goals for the club; one against Sunderland and another against Liverpool during the 2005-06 Premiership season. He represented Chelsea in 72 games during his tenure.


Ndjitap Geremi moved onto Newcastle United on July 6, 2007 and was made captain for the 2007-08 season by manager, Sam Allardyce. As of August 2008, he has played in 28 matches for the club scoring two goals. His first goal was from the match against Tottenham Hotspur, in which Newcastle United emerged victorious and second against West Ham United.
