About Nasser Kazeminy
An entrepreneur and philanthropist, Nasser Kazeminy has led a life full of professional, charitable, and personal accomplishments. After beginning his career at Honeywell International Inc., Mr. Kazeminy joined Control Data Corporation, a company for which he created a global logistics and management information system and served in its Education Group, Field Logistic Services, and Peripherals Group.
Nasser Kazeminy departed Control Data Corporation to build a computer-leasing company called Minneapolis Leasing Corporation, which became an industry leader. Since 1980, Mr. Kazeminy has served as Chairman of NJK Holding Corporation. Through his firm, Mr. Kazeminy has held controlling stakes and minority interests in a variety of companies focused on technological innovation, including Drake ProMetric, which introduced digital accreditation for information technology. Drake eventually merged with Sylvan Learning and then sold its testing certification branch to The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters). Nasser Kazeminy also held interests in XP Systems Corporation, a company that created software and hardware that enabled credit unions to manage their own data processing. The company was sold to Fiserv, Inc., and now boasts 300 credit unions in the U.S. and Guam as customers, and assets of more than $46 billion. Mr. Kazeminy was involved with the largest privately held, third-party healthcare administrator in the country, CENTRA Benefit Services, Inc., which merged with ProxyMed to provide managed care services and software solutions for medical case management, hospital bill audit functions, and medical consultative services. Mr. Kazeminy also twice purchased the Quorum Group, Inc., a computerized litigation support firm: in 1997 he sold Quorum to Harris Corporation, and in 2002, he repurchased the struggling company and turned it around, selling it to Marsh & McLennan Companies two years later for a large profit.
In addition to his busy professional life, Nasser Kazeminy is heavily involved in charitable activities that strive to improve children’s welfare and access to education. In 2003, Mr. Kazeminy was admitted to The Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (commonly known as The Order of St. John). Mr. Kazeminy has also been named a Commander of Merit, pro Merito Melitense of the Knights of Malta.
