St. Louis, Missouri, is emerging as a key location for life sciences and innovations in evolving biotechnologies. In 2002, four organizations came together to found the Center of Research, Technology, and Entrepreneurial Exchange (CORTEX), a business district of several hundred acres comprised of a number of life sciences organizations. Nasser Arshadi, Ph.D. is a board member of CORTEX and at the heart of St. Louis’ rapidly exploding life sciences community. He is also a board member of the Center of Emerging Technologies (CET), an organization that has delivered 92,000 square feet of IT Incubator/ Accelerator space in nine years. Nasser Arshadi’s interest in Incubators extends beyond CET: in 2004, he facilitated the development of a highly innovative, start-up incubator through the IT Enterprises in St. Louis.

 

Nasser Arshadi graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1982, with a Ph.D. in Financial Economics. Currently, he fills two roles at the University of Missouri - St Louis: Nasser Arshadi is Professor of Finance and Vice Provost for Research. As Vice Provost for Research, Nasser Arshadi supervises activities related to university research, technology transfer, and economic development.

 

Nasser Arshadi, co-author of two books, writes finance articles on the microeconomics of corporations and capital markets for top finance and economic journals. In his leisure time, he enjoys bicycling, the novels of Gustave Flaubert, and contributing to Big Brothers/ Big Sisters and the American Cancer Society. He lives in St. Louis, Missouri.
