About Nadine Jenkins
Professional Summary:
With nearly a quarter century of collections and accounts receivable experience to her credit, Nadine Jenkins brings an award-winning background to her field of expertise. She has held executive roles in the collections arena for both private companies and governmental agencies. From 1989 to 1995, Nadine Jenkins successfully juggled many responsibilities with Fluid Containment Inc., an oil and gas enterprise headquartered in Texas. As the company’s Credit and Collections Manager, Jenkins was responsible for both the collections and accounts receivable departments, the company’s commercial and government defense billing activities, and a full call center. Three thousand accounts and $250 million in receivables depended on her managerial acumen. During this time, Nadine Jenkins’ department maintained a 92 percent collection rate.
After a two-year tenure in collections at Norstar Limited Partnership, Nadine Jenkins launched the first Collections Department for Montgomery County in Conrad, Texas. Her responsibilities included financial planning, budgeting, and selecting personnel for the startup agency. Nadine Jenkins also helped create the customer service department, which involved developing and implementing a full suite of office procedures. The collection rate under her direction reached 93 percent, and county revenues increased by $13 million.
During this time, Nadine Jenkins founded the first nonprofit national organization designed to recognize and promote government professionals working in judicial collections. The National Governmental Collectors Association (NGCA) works with the National Center for State Courts to provide support and educational opportunities for government collections workers. As founder, Jenkins sought to encourage innovation and collections effectiveness through training workshops, educational seminars, newsletters, message boards, and emerging collections technologies. The organization intends to help members move beyond conferences, seminars, and workshops to create informal communications networks in order to share new ideas and solutions to common problems. Jenkins’ stated goal for the NGCA is to launch a national resource center to set uniform standards and goals that will raise the bar for collections departments across the country.
