About Myron Cherry
Myron Cherry - Professional Summary:
An experienced lawyer responsible for providing attainable legal services to many people, Myron Cherry is the Managing Partner of Myron M. Cherry & Associates, LLC. In his capacity as a lawyer and mediator, Myron Cherry has overseen legal issues for individuals, corporations, and class actions. Among the first attorneys in the United States to accept cases on a contingency basis, Myron Cherry has won trials worth tens of millions of dollars on behalf of his clients.
Myron Cherry's many notable achievements include a $44 million settlement paid by the Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA) to his clients. Myron Cherry claimed on behalf of his clients, more than 2,200 United Airlines pilots, that ALPA had deprived them of funding meant to settle a pension plan dispute related to United Airlines’ bankruptcy. In addition, Myron Cherry and his team attained a $25.5 million settlement for their client, Ventas, Inc., which sued its former law firm, Sullivan & Cromwell in New York. Exceptional legal representation by Myron Cherry led to the settlement despite the fact that the statute of limitations had run out in all of the states in which the primary actions had occurred.
Myron Cherry attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, earning his Bachelor of Science in Law in 1960. His success in the school’s challenging curriculum led him to pursue a Bachelor of Laws at Northwestern University School of Law. At Northwestern University, Myron Cherry was considered an innovative and thought-provoking student and was ultimately named the Editor of the Northwestern University Law Review. Also during his time at the school, Myron Cherry was inducted into the Order of the Coif, an honorary academic society.
After his graduation from Northwestern University in 1962, Myron Cherry practiced trial law for 11 years before founding his own practice in Chicago. In addition to working at his thriving law firm, Myron Cherry provides legal students with the benefits of his years of experience in the role of Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law, where he teaches Trial Practice.
