About Ms. Theanna Zika

Heavenly Helpers President Theanna Zika established her agency in 2004 with only $5,000 and the dream of providing her community with quality, dependable non-medical home care assistance. Only 6 years later, Theanna Zika’s business has expanded to include 60 caregivers and 45 clients and garnered an expected $1 million in gross revenue for 2009.

Theanna Zika’s St. Louis, Missouri-based agency offers companionship and help with daily activities for the elderly and others requiring special assistance. Under her direction, Theanna Zika’s staff pays daily visits to clients, keeping them company, transporting them to appointments, running errands, and performing household chores. Clients who were having difficulty accomplishing these tasks on their own are grateful for the assistance, and Theanna Zika’s caregivers are more than happy to help.

Understanding that clients’ families may be wary of allowing a stranger into their loved ones’ homes, Theanna Zika and her staff take great pains to thoroughly screen caregiving candidates prior to their hire. Prospective employees are first interviewed over the phone, then in person, and must also complete an orientation session with Theanna Zika. To reassure her potential clients and their families, Theanna Zika has her hiring procedure posted on the Heavenly Helpers website at www.heavenlyhelpers.net.

Prior to entering the home care business, Theanna Zika was trained and employed as a dental hygienist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Dentistry from the University of Oklahoma School of Dentistry and spent several years building a business as a temporary hygienist. By self-promoting her services instead of going through an agency, Theanna Zika was able to build an extensive clientele, and dentists were spared the inconvenience of training a new temporary hygienist every time they needed one. The business development skills Theanna Zika honed during these years helped her launch Heavenly Helpers.

In addition to serving her local community through Heavenly Helpers, Theanna Zika supports national charities, such as the Environmental Defense Fund, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the National Wildlife Federation. She will be earning her certification as a Senior Advisor in June, 2010.
