About Mr. Simon Blint

"You know what your problem is, it's that you haven't seen enough movies - all of life's riddles are answered in the movies."

So says Steve Martin, venerable American actor, comedian, and writer; and so says Simon Blint, a self-professed film buff and customer service specialist with a career spanning more than two decades of dedicated service at venues such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Asian Art Museum, ZEUM Children's Museum, and Cal Performances.

Given that most of Simon Blint's adult life has been spent overseeing the many functions of museums and theaters, it would be easy to guess that his childhood and adult years were filled with the sights and sounds of classic films. Blint's favorite films include such diverse titles as , , , , , and anything by directors Woody Allen, Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Rian Johnson, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, and many others.

Don't be surprised to see Simon Blint drumming on the counter-tops of the museum’s box offices: for 25 years, Blint has been an avid student of the drums while also enjoying many other instruments. When he's not pounding out tunes, much of Blint's free time is devoted to photography, a hobby no doubt influenced by his love of art and one that inspired him to become a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals. Sporting an eclectic array of artistic tastes and talents, a small sampling from a long list of Blint's favorite artists include Olafur Eliasson, Mark Ryden, Frida Kahlo, Banksy, and Shepard Fairey.

In addition to his passion for photography, music, green technology, sustainability, and film, Simon Blint supports the work of organizations such as the Red Cross, Amnesty International, World Wildlife Fund, and Greenpeace. Higher education proved a formidable arena where Blint honed his time management juggling: during his time at the University California, Berkeley, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on international development and human rights, Blint maintained a full-time work schedule and also attained internships at International Development Exchange (IDEX) in San Francisco, International Rivers Network (IRN) in Berkeley, and was the co-author of an unpublished manuscript detailing the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi. He graduated with a 3.8 GPA.

Priding himself on his approachability and affable nature, Blint can be summed up by one of his favorite quotes by author Rudyard Kipling: "I always prefer to believe the best of everybody; it saves so much trouble."
