About Mr. Patrick Hamm
Yale graduate Patrick Hamm is currently working toward his Ph.D. in Sociology. Holding an A.M. in Sociology from Harvard and a B.A. in Ethics, Politics, and Economics from Yale University, Patrick Hamm focuses his research on comparative political economy, comparative capitalisms, critical theory, Russia, and China.
Patrick Hamm is the co-author of “Rapid Large?Scale Privatization and Death Rates in Ex?communist Countries: An Analysis of Stress?Related and Health System Mechanisms,” which was published in the International Journal of Health Services in 2009. Patrick Hamm also co-wrote “Mass Privatization and the Postcommunist Mortality Crisis” and “Privatization and State Capacity in Post?Communist Society,” accepted by the Political Economy Research Institute and The William Davidson Institute, respectively.
Throughout his time at Harvard, Patrick Hamm has been active in numerous research projects as well as campus life at large. From 2006 to 2009, Patrick Hamm served as a Senior Thesis Supervisor for four separate sociology and social studies projects. Patrick Hamm also held the roles of Teaching Fellow, Research Assistant, Graduate Student Representative, and Information Coordinator on the Harvard University Graduate Student Council.
Outside of academia, Patrick Hamm is an avid athlete, who has competed internationally in rowing competitions and currently runs marathons, including Boston and Chicago, among others.
